Mpumelelo is one of South Africa’s leading artists & cultural activists, with two Berlinale world premiered films & the internationally acclaimed award winning post rock band BLK JKS amongst other tricks under his hat.
PRODUCER
Former BBC filmmaker Anna Teeman founded the production companies End Street UK, with celebrated Zimbabwean fine artist Kudzanai Chiurai in 2008, and End Street Africa with Mpumelelo Mcata in 2018.
In February 2019 they were honoured to be invited to place both Black President and Film Festival Film in the collection of the Arsenal - Institut für Film and Videokunst, Berlin and both films continue to be distributed through Arsenal Distribution as part of its home and international curatorial and theatrical distribution. The Forum Expanded programme, within which both films screened and initiated at the Berlinale in 2006, is an annual highlight of this work.
